Teaching Philosophy

 

I believe all students have a right to express their individuality through dance and other art forms. My mission is to share the freedom of self-expression through creative movement and improvisation. I plan to create a positive and supportive environment by inspiring, challenging, motivating, and most of all preparing dancers to achieve their goals and dreams. I do measure my effectiveness by assessing their personal journals in relationship to their movement. I am a strong believer that a community foundation and organization in the classroom creates confidence in learning, creating, performance, and self appreciation. An affirmative environment allows for greater achievements, therefore, I know my students will succeed in my classes when they leave ready to confidently take on any task or challenge given to them, not only in their dance careers, but in their personal lives as well.
